Stage Sister

February 20, 2011

Superduper sorry for this late post… but I just really wanted to share this with all of you.

I don’t usually tell her this… but I am proud of you sis.. That’s why I’m allotting one post for you. 🙂

With a Dad who had a passion for singing, it was expected that his kids would follow suit.  Back in Primary I took a few piano lessons, participated in the school choir, and made the karaoke my best friend… but I never really took music seriously.  When we transferred to the Philippines I eventually developed a love for dancing and soon my singing was reduced to being heard in the shower.

At times Daddy would bring up the issue about his kids not taking interest in music and all his 4 girls would go “I wanna take piano/guitar/voice lessons”.  So late last year, my mom finally enrolled all of us at Center for Pop Music Paranaque.  My brother, as usual, said he doesn’t wanna join us though we all know he can sing (since we eavesdrop when he’s in the bathroom).

All 4 girls took guitar lessons, with Yam and Jam taking the additional voice classes.  After a few months, I have to admit my Jam’s singing has improved.  And last Jan 29, she was invited to guest with 5 other girls to sing at the Music Museum as guests in their colleague’s concert.

Here are some of the clips from the show using my G10… I only took parts of the song because I was taking photos during the 1st half. 😛

Ok, she didn’t sing solo, but I wanted to make sure we got a good shot of her that’s why she looks like the star in all my videos. =p

And here are some emote photos while singing and hitting them high notes… 🙂

And of course, a snapshot of the supportive family 🙂
